Filipina in Japan gives her thumbs up: “BeamAndGo is here to help your families.”

No matter how modern and fast-paced our lifestyles may have become, ‘di mawawala sa ating mga Pilipino ang pagiging matulungin. Bayanihan is one of the most admirable attributes of Filipino culture. Galing ang salitang bayanihan sa bayan — meaning nation, municipality, and community. Kaya naman, we are always willing to lend a helping hand to the whole BeamAndGo community.

A lovely family picture of Gina and her children

By sending Supermarket GCs to your family in the Philippines, mas madadalian ang pamilya mo sa pag-budget ng mga gastusin.

Sa BeamAndGo, we have a 24-hour promise: your family will receive the gift certificates in 24 hours or less. Sign up na para makapagpadala ka na!

In a change of events, Gina sent Supermarket GCs for Super 8 instead of GMall to her daughter, Arisa. To make sure na makakarating sa kanyang anak ang kanyang ipinadala, Gina contacted Angela, our customer service representative.

Arisa’s friends and our extra smiling Customer Service representative, Angela

Kaya naman Angela is more than happy to help Arisa in her grocery shopping sa Super 8.

Super 8 branches are located in Metro Manila, Cavite, Antipolo and Northern Luzon. For the full list of branches, click here.

More than 30 years na pala ang kanyang ina abroad. She has been working more than 2 jobs, para masuportahan niya ang kanyang pamilya dito. Si Gina lang rin ang nagpapaaral sa kanyang anak and Arisa has always been thankful.

Arisa, her brother and her tita – regular recipients of Gina’s gift certificates

Hindi man daw vocal si Arisa pagsabing mahal niya ang kanyang mama, she always makes sure she shows this in all other ways. She does this by being studious as a Tourism Major at Holy Angel University, Angeles, Pampanga. Pangarap niyang makapagtapos, makakuha ng magandang trabaho, at makapag-ipon ng malaki. She wants to be successful para makatulong sa kanyang mama at magkasama na sila.

More than making it easier for Gina and Arisa to budget and to save on remittance costs, gusto naming mapanatiling close ang bawat pamilya ng ating mga kababayang OFW.

We’re always ready to help you in any way we can! Just send us an email at customerservice@beamandgo.com, our customer service representatives here will gladly assist you.

Before you can send Supermarket GCs to your loved ones, kailangan mo munang mag-register sa BeamAndGo!

Today, we will feature a supermarket in Dau, Mabalacat, ang Jumbo Jenra. Our SVP, Albert Christian Go, together with Aica, a BeamAndGo customer and volunteer, headed to Pampanga to check out what Jumbo Jenra has to offer! Tara, samahan kami sa pag-discover!

Albert was immediately greeted by our friends from Jumbo Jenra. Everyone in this store seems to be happy serving their customers kaya naman good vibes ang pamimili.

Albert and Aica roamed around the spacious aisles of Jumbo Jenra to shop for the necessities for their stay in Pampanga. Rice, water, snacks, fruits, and fresh meat — kumpleto sila!

They make sure to stock up on variety kaya naman siguradong may makikita ang bawat miyembro ng iyong pamilya. This is evident in the number of shopping malls and mall goers in the area.

They also looked for different items your family may need. Nakapag-karaoke pa nga si Albert, while grocery shopping dito eh!

Nagtapos ang enjoyable shopping trip nila by using BeamAndGo’s supermarket GCs. It’s easy and hassle free! 7 Tips when living as an OFW in Singapore

Isa ang Singapore sa mga paboritong out-of-the-country destinations of our fellow Filipinos. This may be a reason why a lot of our OFW kababayans choose to work here. For OFWs in Singapore and all over the world, we at BeamAndGo would like to help you take care of your families.

Send Supermarket GCs to your family in the Philippines!

Tanggalin mo na ito sa list ng inyong proproblemahin while you’re in Singapore! Now, it’s good to learn din about the culture in Singapore, para prepared ka!

SG Skyline

Old habits die hard,” sabi nga nila, especially when these habits are a part of our everyday lives. Maraming pagkakaiba ang Singapore from our motherland, the Philippines. It’s no simple to task to adapt to a completely new environment. We’ve listed 7 attitudes that you need to adapt to when traveling to Singapore:

1. Be ready to walk, walk, walk.

Their sidewalks are full of people heading to the nearest MRT station, malls, or establishments.

2. Follow the rules.

Follow the rulesThis might seem obvious, but sadly, hindi natin sinusunod ang mga simpleng batas when it’s inconvenient for us. Kaya nga sa Pilipinas, napapansin natin na people skip lines, cut each other off in traffic, or bribe certain government officials. But this is not the case in Singapore. May kasabihan silang, “Singapore is a very fine city,” emphasis on fine. Indeed, Singapore is very strict with its rules and regulations, and even one misstep or mistake can set you back a couple thousand SGD in the form of fines. Kaya naman, whether we are abroad or not, we should always follow the rules and keep our impulses in check.

3. Respect Your Surroundings.

Respect your surroundingsSingapore prides itself as being a very clean city. Whatever you do, don’t just throw or leave your trash wherever, because not only does this earn you a heavy fine, it will also offend the people around you and cause you to be the object of not one too many glares and whispers. Meron pa nga silang CCTV cameras sa ibang public restrooms to check if you flushed the toilet or not!

4. Observe proper etiquette in public places

Check your mannersTulad ng pagbibigay nila ng importance sa kanilang environment, the good people of Singapore are also particular with how they treat each other. Things like not hogging the sidewalk, not blocking the escalator by staying to the right side, letting train passengers alight before boarding, giving your seat away to the disabled, pregnant, and elderly are just a few of the basic manners na kailangang i-practice sa Singapore.

5. No Filipino Time

Being on timeNaku! Do yourself a favor and start timing yourself right, because time really is gold! Everything and everyone in Singapore moves like a precisely timed machine; nothing and nobody will wait for you if you are late! Being late will just damage your reputation, your character, and your mindset.

Para makatulong sa pag-manage ng inyong oras, BeamAndGo is here to help! Send your family supermarket GCs and other care packages with just a few clicks!

Nag-sign up ka na ba?

6. Change How You Communicate

Of course, it’s important to be polite, but not to the point that you can be pushed around. Importante ang pagiging confident sa pananalita. Assert yourself and show that you’re someone to be respected.

7. Be Self-Sufficient

Be self-sufficientWhether you are an OFW working and living there o turista na namamasyal, importante ang pagiging independent.

Kassy, a Speech Communication graduate from UP Diliman, with her Mommy Ailen during her University Graduation last June 26, 2016.

From Dubai with Love: OFW Moms deserve only the best!

We all know it’s difficult growing up far from our parents, especially our mom. Our moms are one of the most influential and important people in our lives. Whenever we need someone to give us advice, someone to understand our shortcomings, someone to support our undertakings, or just someone to be with when life gets a little rough, it’s our moms we go to.

We spoke with Kassy, a recent graduate of the University of the Philippines Diliman, who majored in BA Speech Communication. She grew up away from her mom since she was 13 years old. She admits it was difficult having a long-distance relationship with Mommy Ailen, but it was never a hindrance for them to constantly stay in touch. Even if mommy is away, she never forgets even the little things, like the basic needs of her family. Just like any other parent, Mommy Ailen makes sure that her family has their basic needs. To make this part of parenthood a lot easier and better, BeamAndGo is here to help!

Have you found a supermarket near your family? Buy now!

Kassy tells us that just like most OFWs, her mom decided to work abroad to improve their family’s financial stability. From being a housewife, her mom flew to Dubai, not knowing what job she would get into. She just took her shot. After just 5 days, her mom found a job as a secretary. After a year, she found her current job as an HR employee. She has been happily working for the same company after 10 years. Kassy says her mom is career-oriented. This motivates her to become successful in her future career too as a Speech Communication graduate.

Communication is Key!

Kassy considers herself very close to her mom. Early on, they have always been regularly speaking — talking about the little things, like how their days go, to major life decisions. Thanks to Facebook, they can now talk to each other everyday! Kassy’s mom has been very hands-on in taking part in her life. She makes sure that she’s always here for special occasions and major celebrations. Whenever she’s in the Philippines, they make the most out of their bonding time as a family.

13874954_10207989155501104_103121876_nKassy has three other siblings. Kat, 27, who works as a ground crew, Kyle, 26, a customer service agent and Kris, 18, who is still in school. All four siblings look out for each out other especially when their mom is not here. They’ve learned to count on each other and have formed a solid support group. Whenever Mommy Ailen goes home to Manila, they all go out together. On most days, they communicate through their Facebook chat group.

Related: For bonding ideas for you and your family, click here.

Like other children with OFW parents, Kassy imagines what it would be like if her mom just stays for good. Of course, she prefers to be with her mom more often. And although it’s difficult, she understands that the decision for her mom to work abroad is the more practical option.

To our OFW parents: You deserve only the best!

Bittersweet — this is how Kassy would describe how it is growing up with an OFW mom. Mommy Ailen’s sacrifice to not be with Kassy as she grows up is no joke. Open communication and understanding really is key to staying close with your family, whether together or away from each other.

What’s your family story? We’d love to hear from you as well!
